Bit by Bit

 

I got an iPod touch in September. It's been handy for moments when I didn't want to use film and didn't have my dSLR. I made these pictures using the Hipstamatic app and my own brain.

I have begun photographing myself a lot more, and I think it is because I am trying to learn myself as a woman, not a girl. The process is complex, and some things I like more than others. 

I'm getting closer. This helps.

The Harveys in Scotland : 1980

I recently acquired an enormous collection of slide photographs that my maternal grandparents (Bill & Charlotte Harvey) took over the course of 20 years (early 1960s-early 1980s). These photos are from a trip they took to Scotland in 1980. My grandmother is no longer with us, and it was such a treat to get to see her smiling face again. I am excited to continue scanning their slides and look forward to sharing more with you. Enjoy!

My husband and I had the pleasure of traveling sans dogs to Falmouth, MA in early June for a wedding (more of the wedding to come!) and we had a great time checking out the area and breathing Cape air! I've been shooting a lot more film lately and I'm remembering how much I love it. All of these photographs were made with my Pentax PC-50 point and shoot. Enjoy!
